US government investigates child abuse on TikTok

So say Financial Times sources associated with the US Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security. Both government agencies are said to be concerned about posting child abuse images on the platform.

Child rapists would also use the platform to approach child victims. They would, among other things, use the privacy systems of TikTok.

For example, they would post offensive material to private accounts and then share the account information and password with victims and other perpetrators. In this way they try to escape from the police.

In addition, the US government is reportedly concerned that TikTok is not taking enough measures to ensure that adults do not approach children in this way. Also, the app’s audit team would not have enough time to check everything. That’s why there are so many child molesters on TikTok.
