OpenAI’s board fires Sam Altman, the executive who founded the company

The board of directors of OpenAI, the company that developed ChatGPT, among other things, fired co-founder and current executive Sam Altman.

According to the board, Altman “was not consistently clear in his communication with the board, which prevented the board from performing its duties.” The board doesn’t offer any examples, and Altman himself has been vague about his departure. Open

Mira Murati will temporarily take over the management of OpenAI. He was already the head of technical affairs at the company.

Altman co-founded OpenAI in 2015 with Tesla founder Elon Musk and Amazon Web Services, which is part of Amazon. Under his leadership, ChatGPT was launched last year. This has caused a great increase in interest in artificial intelligence.

The Verge says Altman’s departure is very surprising. Altman was the face of the company. He spoke at length at OpenAI’s first major developer event last week.

In addition to Altman’s resignation, OpenAI announced that another co-founder, Greg Brockman, also resigned as CEO. He remains active in the company.
