China demands that governments only use computers made in China

Chinese governments and state-owned companies must ensure that within two years they only use computers made in their own country. This is what the Beijing government is demanding, sources told the news agency on Friday. BloombergI

As a result of this measure, the national government alone will eventually have to replace at least 50 million computers.

The new policy will affect the sales of computer manufacturers HP and Dell. These American companies are the largest PC sellers in the country after the Chinese Lenovo.

A new part of China’s long-standing policy: replacing imported technology with local alternatives. That means that chips, telephones and network equipment must also be produced in China. Local software vendors are also preferred over Microsoft and Adobe programs.
