Sonos will soon come with its own speech assistant for smart speakers

Audio company Sonos will announce its own voice assistant in the coming weeks, writes Side based on insiders. This allows people to control the music on Sonos speakers with their voice.

This feature is part of a new software update expected to be released in early June. The voice assistant will initially only be available to customers in the United States, but is expected to be available internationally at a later date.

Sonos Voice, the feature called, will be an alternative to Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice assistants. These are already available on Sonos smart speakers.

Sonos Voice Commands work with music services from Apple Music, Amazon Music, Pandora, Deezer, and Sonos Radio. Spotify and YouTube Music have not yet partnered with Sonos.

Sonos starts listening to the speakers when the user says “Hey Sonos”. The company says it does not record voice commands to ensure customer privacy.

wrote a few weeks ago Side Also that Sonos will soon introduce a new soundbar. The Sonos Ray costs about $250, but it doesn’t have a built-in microphone for volume control.
