These are the cheapest smartphones you can buy right now

In collaboration with the editors of BestGetest, we have selected the cheapest smartphones of the moment. The Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G won the top prize this time.

This is a shortened version of a more extensive test on the comparison site BestGetest. You can read an overview of the best smartphones under 350 euros.

For this test, we took a close look at all the key features for basic phone use, such as battery life, case, screen quality, and camera. In addition, the device should be for sale for 350 euros or less.

User experience is also important when choosing a new phone. Processor speed, operating system and other software play an important role in this. These tests are performed in collaboration with the Tweakers test lab.

Cheapest smartphone: Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G

  • Advantages: It has a good processor, impressive cameras, a high screen refresh rate and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
  • ailments: Not the best battery life, plastic case feels very plastic

Anyone looking for a phone under $350 is primarily looking for a good basic smartphone. And the Galaxy A52s certainly does: it does exactly what you’d expect in most areas. In addition, the phone also has a waterproof case and long-supported software. We can’t say that about many other phones in this test.

There is also its successor, the Samsung Galaxy A53, but it is more expensive. In addition, this new model also lacks a 3.5mm audio port for connecting wired headphones, which we think is a big plus. That is why we prefer the Galaxy A52s in this test.

The display of this phone has an impressive 120 hertz refresh rate. It also has high brightness and supports HDR. In concrete terms, this means that you can also consult the device in the sun and that browsing on websites or social networks runs very smoothly. Another advantage is that the memory can be expanded if you want to store more music, videos and photos.

The cameras are very good and the main camera even supports optical image stabilization. This function, which ensures better night shots, is missing from many smartphones in this price range. The ability to shoot macros where you can take close-up shots is also admirable. The ability to take wider wide-angle shots is nice too, but that feature is pretty standard these days.

Cheaper alternative: Motorola Moto G31

  • Advantages: Very good battery life, lots of storage memory, high resolution and bright OLED display
  • ailments: does not charge very fast

The first thing you notice about the Moto G31 is its bright, high-resolution OLED display. As a result, you not only get a great image on your device, but everything on your screen also remains legible in sunny weather. The NFC chip with which you can pay contactless is also a nice addition.

Another achievement of the Moto G31 is the memory of this smartphone. It is quite large at 128 GB and allows you to store a lot more photos, videos, apps, music and files.

Since it has a large battery, you can use your phone for a long time on a single charge. Even if you watch videos continuously, you can expect twenty hours of use.

The price you pay is that it takes a long time to fully charge the phone. After half an hour on the charger, the battery was only 20% charged, which was enough to use the phone for 2.5 hours.
