Apple wants to give USB-C connectivity to accessories, not just iPhones

Apple iPhones and accessories will be getting a USB-C connection in the near future, as expert analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has widely reported. tension† The tech giant seems to no longer want to use the existing Lightning port.

Kuo claimed last week that Apple plans to launch iPhones with USB-C ports by 2023. Now it says that several Apple accessories get the same link. These are AirPods, Magic Trackpad, Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse and MagSafe battery.

It is not known when the accessories will be equipped with the new clutch. Kuo speaks of the “near future”.

Last year, the European Commission introduced a bill requiring all phones, tablets and other consumer electronics in the European Union to use a standard charger with a USB-C connector. In addition, the sale of chargers should be separated from the sale of devices.

According to EC, this is much more convenient for consumers, as many different chargers are now required for different devices. A universal charger can also save a lot of waste, as manufacturers always supply standard chargers with their products.
