It will be easier to cancel accounts on iPhone apps at the end of June

Apple has warned app developers about changes to the App Store that will make it easier for users to cancel their accounts. The new rules will be binding from June 30.

To use apps, people usually need to create an account. Also for apps that you may not use often. Now Apple wants to make it easy to remove these accounts directly from apps.

This way, users will no longer receive spam messages from the app. Also, the developer does not hide any information from people who no longer use the app. Deleting an app is often not the solution because an account will continue to exist later.

Under the new rules, the option to cancel an account should be easy to find in an app. Temporarily closing accounts or deactivating an account is not enough. People should be able to completely delete their account and personal information.

The change was originally scheduled for January 31 this year, but Apple says the deadline is too tight for developers. Now that the reminders have been sent, the company does not expect any further delays.
