XiaomiMi Band 7 Mi Band 7 is the latest model in its range Incredibly popular fitness trackers, but how do they differ from the Mi Band 6? Xiaomi’s health and fitness portfolio includes not only fitness trackers and smart watches, but also smart scales and treadmills. However, not all of these products are made by Xiaomi. Several of them are made by companies under their ecosystem.
While the company behind the Mi Band 7 is not yet known, Zepp (formerly known as Huami), the company that is also behind the Amazfit brand, has previously made Mi Band fitness trackers. Zepp sometimes uses Xiaomi’s fitness tracker designs for its own fitness trackers, such as the Amazfit Band 5, which shares an almost identical look and feel to the Mi Smart Band 5.
The new Mi Band 7 largely retains the design of its predecessor, with a pill-shaped display in a polycarbonate pouch. The colored straps are made of TPU, while the buckle is made of aluminum alloy. Both the Mi Band 7 and Mi Band 6 have a water resistance of 5 ATM, which is not surprising because they can also take swimming workouts. The Mi Band 6 is available in six colors, while the Mi Band 7 comes in 10 colors, including two special camouflages and two glow-in-the-dark reflective options.
Mi Band 7 has a bigger screen, more sports mode
The big difference between Mi Band 7 and Mi Band 6 is the size. Xiaomi has increased the AMOLED screen of the new model from 1.56 inches to 1.62 inches. The resolution has also increased, but is still the same at 326 PPI. You also get a brightness boost from 450 nits to 500 nits. However, the series’ biggest update fans should rave about the AOD support (always on screen). There are over 100 watch faces to choose from, which have grown to over 60 of the Mi Band 6.
While both fitness trackers support 24/7 heart rate monitoring and blood oxygen saturation monitoring, Xiaomi says the Mi Band 7 comes with an improved sensor. The new fitness tracker has also gained the ability to alert users via vibrations when blood oxygen levels drop below 90. The supported workouts have also been increased from just 30 Mi Band 6 to 120 new fitness trackers. Physical activity. The Mi Band 7 now comes with Bluetooth 5.2 (BLE) and this should lead to a better connection. Xiaomi has increased the demand for Android OS from Android 5.0 to Android 6.0, but maintains the demand for Apple device support on iOS 10.0.
Not surprisingly, the Mi Band 7 now has a larger battery capacity: 180 mAh compared to the 125 mAh battery of the Mi Band 6. That means 15 days of normal use and up to 9 days of heavy use. In contrast, the Mi Band lasted 6 to 14 days in normal mode and 5 days in heavy-use mode. However, both fitness trackers outperformed the Garmin Vivosmart 5’s 7-day battery life. Fortunately, the magnetic charger appears to have remained unchanged. The Mi Band 7 is currently only available in China and costs 9,249 (~$37) for the standard version and 9,299 (~$45) for the NFC version. As with previous models, Xiaomi It is likely to announce a global version that will likely be sold as Mi Smart Band 7.
