PlayStation Plus renewed: this is how it is in different subscriptions

The renewed PlayStation Plus subscription service has been available in the Netherlands since Thursday. Sony’s service now offers multiple tiers at different prices. In this article we explain the differences.

PlayStation Plus is Sony’s service for PlayStation consoles. There are now three levels: Essential, Extra and Premium.

PlayStation Plus Essential is the cheapest option, at 8.99 euros per month or 59.99 euros per year. This variant has the fewest extras. Essential gives you access to online multiplayer games (for non-free games, Fortnite), PlayStation Store discounts and access to two PS4 games and one PS5 game per month.

PlayStation Plus Extra is slightly more expensive. You pay 13.99 euros per month or 99.99 euros per year. You get everything in the Essential package and have access to a catalog of hundreds of PS4 and PS5 games. Once downloaded, they can be played on the console.

The list of PS4 and PS5 games includes: kinsmanI god of warI Horizon Zero Dawn and Red Dead Redemption 2† All listed on the PlayStation website.

PlayStation Plus Premium costs €16.99 per month or €119.99 per year and offers most of the features. This bundle includes everything in Essential and Plus. It also gives subscribers access to game demos so they can play a bit before purchasing a new game. Progress from these demos will carry over to full versions of games.
