Zep recently announced Amazfit Bip 3 Pro Smartwatch at $69.99, same price as the Amazfit Bip U Pro, but which one is better for these two wears? Amazfit Bip smart watches are known for being affordable and offering a long battery life. The first model was called the Amazfit Bip and was released in 2017, but the following year it arrived in the US.
The original Amazfit Bip sold for $99 and had a reflective screen, a built-in GPS chip and a battery that lasted up to 45 days. While the newer models are now cheaper and have more features, none of them can match the battery life of the first hour of the series. This is partly due to the additional hardware and software features that have been added to the new smartwatches.
The Amazfit Bip 3 Pro and the Amazfit Bip U Pro are easy to distinguish because the former is significantly larger. However, they are made of the same material and have the same rectangular dial design and single button. Both smartwatches have a polycarbonate housing, a 2.5D display with glass protection and 20mm silicone quick release fasteners (textured straps for the Bip 3 Pro). Both are also rated to 5 ATM’s for water resistance. The Amazfit Bip 3 Pro is slightly heavier at 33.2 grams and is available in black, beige and pink, while the Bip U Pro weighs 32 grams and is available in black, green and pink.

One of the upgrades that the Amazfit Bip 3 Pro brings is the larger screen. Compared to the 1.43-inch screen of the Amazfit Bip U Pro, the screen measures 1.69 inches. However, the Bip U Pro IPS LCD has better viewing angles and better color reproduction. It also has a higher resolution of 302 x 320. In contrast, the Bip 3 Pro uses a TFT LCD panel, which has the advantage of being energy efficient, but not very sharp and does not have a wide viewing angle. The resolution of 240 x 280 is also low and the result of the screen size will be noticeable.
Both watches feature a BioTracker 2 PPG sensor for all-day heart rate monitoring and blood oxygen level monitoring. They also support sleep tracking, stress tracking, and menstrual monitoring. Zepp outfitted both smartwatches with support for tracking over 60 different sports activities, including the basics of walking, running, and swimming, as well as martial arts, boxing, and archery. While they both support location tracking, the Bip 3 Pro should be better at tracking as it supports four satellite positioning systems as opposed to the Bip U Pro which only has one.
The Bip U Pro has a gyroscope and a geomagnetic sensor (electronic compass). It’s also the only one with Amazon’s built-in Alexa voice assistant, and microphone owners can call the assistant the same way they do on the Echo or Fire TV smart speaker. Unfortunately, it’s not a speaker, so it’s impossible to use your conversations. The Amazfit Bip 3 Pro includes a larger capacity battery that offers up to 14 days of normal use or seven days of heavy use, while the Amazfit Bip U Pro offers up to nine days of normal use and up to five days of heavy use.
The Amazfit Bip 3 Pro has the advantage of a larger screen, better battery life and faster and more accurate location determination. The Amazfit Bip U Pro has a high-quality screen, electronic compass and voice assistant on the wrist. Both smartwatches are compatible with iOS and Android devices. However, as long as the Amazfit Bip U Pro works with newer Android 5.0+ and iOS 10.0+ devices Amazfit Bip 3 Pro Compatible with devices running at least Android 7.0 and iOS 12.0 and above.
