In the early hours of this Thursday, a magnitude 6.9 earthquake was recorded that triggered the seismic alarm in central Mexico. Two people were killed in the incident.
The earthquake struck at 1:16 am (6:16 GMT) with an epicenter 81 kilometers south of Coalcomán, Michoacán, where last Monday’s earthquake hit, measuring 7.7, according to the National Seismological Service ( SSN).
Mexico City’s head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum, confirmed that two people were killed in the earthquake: a woman who hit her head when she fell down the stairs of her home and a man who suffered a heart attack.
