Queen Elizabeth, What the Sovereign of England Died: The Certificate

Queen Elizabeth II died of old age. So reads the death certificate issued by the National Registers of Scotland this afternoon. It is the same cause declared for her husband, Prince Philip, who passed away in April 2021. If wording was foreseen (Buckingham Palace has always refused to comment on the indiscretion of Her Majesty’s downfall at the origin of her death, nda), the historical document confirms the printed reconstructions.

Elizabeth II, 96, died at 3:10 pm on September 8 at her beloved home in Balmoral and only her eldest son Charles and sister Anna, now in Scotland, were able to see her still alive. On that tragic day, her children Andrea and Edoardo and their grandchildren were in London and despite the races they didn’t have time to say goodbye. Prince William, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and his wife, Sophie, Countess of Wessex, were on a flight to Balmoral when the Queen passed away (they landed in Aberdeen at 3:50 pm). Harry, on the other hand, arrived in Scotland at 6:46 pm, 16 minutes after the Palace officially announced him to the world, and walked through the castle gates at 7:52 pm, nearly five hours after Elizabeth II’s death.

The Duke of Sussex was warned along with the other members of the royal family of the desperate conditions of his august grandmother, but he reportedly missed the first plane due to a violent dispute with his father Charles, who had forbidden him to bring his wife Meghan Markle.

The death certificate was drawn up by Douglas James Allan Glass, physician and pharmacist at the house of Balmoral, while Princess Anne is referred to as “the person who informs” and has notified the local chancellor of her mother’s death. In fact, during the funeral, the Queen’s only child revealed that she was close to her in the last moments: “I was lucky to share the last 24 hours of my dear mother’s life”.
