Strong explosions this morning in Kiev. This was reported by the “Kiev Independent” talking about at least four explosions. Tall plumes of smoke were seen in the center of the city. The vice-president of the Russian Security Council, Dmitri Medvedev – according to the Telegram channel of Russian journalist Nadana Fridrikhson – said: destruction of terrorists.”
According to local media reports and regional authorities, the series of explosions shook the Ukrainian capital. Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko released a statement via his official Telegram account shortly after 8:30 am local time, saying: “Several explosions in Shevchenkiv district in the center of the capital”.
Today Putin will hold an operational meeting with permanent members of the Security Council, while the Russian Security Service says it has detected a “significant increase” in the number of attacks in the border regions of the Russian Federation from Ukraine. There would be more than 100 in the Bryansk, Kursk and Belgorod regions with “rockets, artillery cannons, mortars and unmanned aerial vehicles”.
