He strangled his stepsister and hung her body from a gas pipe because she came home too late after a night out. Kantar saddle was imprisoned for a minimum of 30 years. The man confessed to killing his half-sister, Dilsen Avci, at her family home in Pursaklar District, Ankara Province, Central Turkey, on June 27, 2020. The woman was 30 years old and a mother of two. The mother of the two brothers made the shocking discovery.

Dilsen’s death was initially ruled a suicide, until Selim confessed to strangling her in a letter from prison, where she was serving time for another crime. The young man explained that he did not regret what he had done, convinced that his sister, often staying late at night, did not have the proper attitude.

He was charged with murder and before Ankara’s 34th Criminal Court, during the trial, admitted that he felt no pity for his actions, saying, “I would have killed her again.” Given his criminal record and lack of remorse, the court sentenced him to an aggravated life sentence, meaning he can only be deemed worthy of parole after serving 30 years.

The half-siblings’ mother, Necmiye Tiras, 58, told local media: “He got his just punishment. That phrase cheered us up a little bit. I hope he never leaves,” she admitted after the sentencing.
