Russia Ukraine, Medvedev warns: “Long-range weapons lead to world war”

Russia warns the West about supplying new weapons to Ukraine. The supply to Kiev of multiple missile launchers (MLRS) equipped with long-range munitions “is the fastest way to escalate the conflict in Ukraine towards the irreversible consequence of a world war”. That’s what former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, now deputy head of Russia’s Security Council, wrote on Telegram.

Medvedev’s words, quoted by Tass, come as Ukraine continues to ask the United States for long-range ammunition for Himars missile launchers. Washington has so far denied them, fearing that Russian territory will be hit, causing the conflict to escalate again. In his Telegram message, Medvedev also claimed that NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg had indeed admitted the Atlantic Alliance’s participation in the conflict. “The comment by the NATO Secretary General that a Russian victory in Ukraine would mean a defeat for the Atlantic Alliance is direct confirmation that the bloc is participating in the war against our country. As they say, a great mind. But it comes from a heart .pure – he commented ironically – an honest Norwegian finally made a confession”, he concludes.
