Two of the smallest and most modern Russian corvettes, Stoikiy AND Soobrazitelnyy, crossed the strait of Gibraltarhaving traveled from the Baltic, and are currently in the waters of the Mediterranean.
Designed to make them less visible on radar, with missiles anti-ship AND anti-aircraft state-of-the-art, its entry into the Mediterranean, as revealed by the website Itamilradar, was monitored by the American planes that took off from Sigonella. That’s what the newspaper reported the republic.
In the same waters, remaining invisible when submerged, the submarine nuclear powered Severodvinskequipped with long-range cruise missiles: an extraordinary presence in the Mediterranean.
The purpose of their presence, after about a month’s interval, would be “spy on”the new exercise of the Atlantic Alliance”,Neptune’s Attack”, which should begin today, Monday 17 October, between the Adriatic and the Ionian, with the involvement of ships, submarines and jets from various countries, simulating threats from the East in the Balkans and on the coasts of the Black Sea.
On the high Adriatic, another even more delicate exercise will begin today, namely, the “Firm Noon”, which literally means “constant noon”, as opposed to “midnight”, which indicates the nuclear catastrophe. The operation, which was planned before the start of the war in Ukraine, runs until the end of the month and will involve 14 countries, managed by the US, UK and France.
According to the Atlantic Alliance, “air forces from across NATO will exercise nuclear deterrence involving dozens of aircraft over northwest Europe”.
“We would be sending a very wrong message if we suddenly canceled a routine exercise, which had been planned for some time, because the war in Ukraine is ongoing,” explained the NATO secretary general. Jens Stoltenberg, at a press conference in Brussels, adding that Russian President Putin’s nuclear rhetoric is “irresponsible” and that Moscow “knows that a nuclear war would not have a winner and should never be fought”
