Poland, fighter jets take off after Russia attack

Russian missiles aimed at Ukraine hit Poland, a member of NATO and the European Union, causing two deaths. The Polish Prime Minister, Mateusz Morawiecki, has urgently convened the Council of Ministers for National Security and Defense: announced the spokesman for the Government, Piotr Muller, after the two deaths in Przewodow, close to the Ukrainian border. According to Polish and Ukrainian media, the Polish Air Force took off fighter jets from Tomaszów-Lubelski Airport.

The reaction of the countries closest to the war zone was not long in coming. “The criminal Russian regime launched missiles that not only hit Ukrainian civilians, but also hit NATO territory in Poland. Latvia fully supports Polish friends and condemns this crime,” said Latvian Defense Minister Artis Pabriks. Then it was also the turn of the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs: “The latest news from Poland is worrying. We are facing Poland and other allies. Estonia is ready to defend every inch of NATO territory. We are fully in solidarity with our ally Poland.”
