London Metropolitan Police (Met of Scotland Yard) confirmed that they have forwarded their findings to prosecutors who will soon decide whether to take the case to court.
The Met launched an investigation at the request of the Republican Association in February and filed a complaint in September 2021 after the monarch’s deputy, Michael Fawcett, published articles in 2017 claiming he was a member.

Fawcett, who resigned from the Prince’s Trust (founded by Prince Charles in 1986) following the scandal, was accused of helping Saudi donor Mahfouz Marei Mubarak bin Mahfouz gain British citizenship and the highest nobility.
At the time, Carlos III’s spokesman denied knowing about these transactions on his behalf. The BBC points out that the monarch is not questioned today.
