Emergency services fight a house fire in Caerphilly town centre. The South Wales Fire Brigade said it was called to the scene at 1.30am on Sunday (20 November).

Gwent Police said they were assisting emergency services at the scene of the incident at the intersection of Cardiff Road and Pentrebane Street in Caerphilly. A spokesman said: “The road is closed and there are detours that could cause congestion. Avoid the area if possible and look for alternative routes for your journey.”

The Fire Department reported that teams remained on site this Sunday morning.

Firefighters remain on site

The South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said five crews had been dispatched to the Pentrebane Street fire.

The first bell rang at 1:30 am.

The spokeswoman added that the incident was still “ongoing” as of Sunday morning.
