An international peace conference in Paris on December 13: it is one of the goals of efforts to end the Ukrainian conflict, according to a joint statement by Joe Biden and Emmanuel Macron after their meeting in the Oval Office.
The French prime minister visiting the US in an interview with ABC said that in his opinion “a negotiating table with Vladimir Putin is still possible to put an end to the invasion of Ukraine, which he defined as “a big mistake”. underlined that “a just peace is not a peace that can be imposed on Ukrainians” and that “a just peace is not a peace that in the medium or long term would not be accepted by either party”.
The US and France will continue to support Ukraine “as long as necessary”, Biden and Macron explained after their meeting in the Oval Office. The two presidents “reaffirm their countries’ support for Ukraine” and pledged to provide “political, security, humanitarian and economic assistance for as long as necessary”.
