On the morning of this Thursday, December 1, the relatives of Zaileth Sofía Iglesias Paso, the under-2-year-old who died in a traffic accident that occurred last Tuesday, December 29, remained at the full entrance of Legal Medicine in Barranquilla November in the municipality of Polonuevo.
They went to do the paperwork so that the body of the little girl was delivered to them, who died at 9:30 am on Wednesday at the Reina Catalina clinic in Baranoa, according to reports from authorities.
The girl’s relatives said the incident took place on 7th Street between 13 and 14 Carrera, in the Camilo Torres neighborhood, where Jeffrey Iglesias, the minor’s uncle, said she was “playing.”
“The girl’s mother says she was with a ball and it fell on a curb in the road. When she put a foot down, the bike came up to full speed and took her away,” Iglesias said.
The little girl, who lived a few blocks from the sinister site, suffered blows to the head, abrasions to her face, and fractures to her right leg and right collarbone.
After the shocking news, Iglesias assured that the accident was the result of the motorist’s recklessness and so they are asking for justice.
“We want justice to be done for the death of Zaileth, that boy was speeding and without a license because he is underage. We will file the complaint so that the boy takes his responsibility in the case of my niece,” he said.
He then stated that the authorities should carry out more checks, despite the fact that there is a speed controller in the vicinity of the accident, which was left out by the person concerned.
