Rescue operations in Mandvi village, Betul district, Madhya Pradesh, reached their third day, to extract from an artesian well Tanmay Sahu, the eight-year-old Indian boy has been trapped at a depth of about 30 meters since Tuesday night. Efforts to save the baby’s life last more than 60 hours, but hopes for a positive outcome are very small.
the child is fell into the well while playing on a farm around 5pm on December 6th. His father, Sunil Sahu, told reporters that his son was on the family farm when, at one point, he walked into a field where the water well🇧🇷
His other daughter, aged 12, saw him fall. “We immediately rushed to the spot. he was breathing and we heard his voice as we tried to call him. The rescue operation started from 6 pm on December 6,” he said.
According to The Hinduistan Times, officials said that Tanmay “he doesn’t answer anymore and may have fainted.’
“The rescue operation for the eight-year-old boy who fell into the well is still ongoing. The excavation is ongoing and about 9 meters of excavation has been carried out,” Betul Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Shyamendra Jaiswal told ANI news agency earlier.
“Our goal is to reach 13 meters and then dig a tunnel. It may take some time as there are hard rocks on the road. The boy, however, does not answer because he may have passed out. All efforts are being made to save it, he added.
The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), National Guard and local law enforcement are on site.
