The US House of Representatives’ assault committee on Congress voted unanimously to recommend that the Justice Department indict Donald Trump for inciting an insurrection and other crimes related to the events of January 6. According to the commission’s report, Trump “influenced and attempted to block an official process of the United States government”, “conspired to defraud the United States by unlawfully making false statements to the federal government”, and “witnessed and participated in an insurrection against the United States United States”. It is, however, a harsh political accusation, which risks putting Trump’s candidacy for 2024 at risk.
Former US President Donald Trump refused to intervene to immediately block the attack on Congress. And that reason makes him “unable to hold office” in the White House. So said Liz Cheney, vice chairman of the House commission of inquiry into the January 6, 2021 insurrection.
“Republicans and patriots across the country must stand united and strong against the criminals and scoundrels of the unselected committee”, thus Donald Trump attacks the House committee of inquiry on its social truth. “It will be a dark period for American history, but after darkness comes light,” continues Trump, who then accuses: “These criminals spied on my election campaign,” he writes in large letters. “The unselected commission of political mercenaries is the same group that invited the fake Russia – adds the former president referring to Russiagate – not to mention others. They are cowardly cowards – he concludes – who hate our country”.
