An accident blocked a busy road in Cardiff
The A4232 becomes blocked after an accident between a car and a truck.
It happened between the detour to Premier Inn and Lamby Way.
Congestion for St Mellons on the A48 due to Cardiff bound traffic and delays on Rover Way.

The leader of the nurses’ union picketed
The director of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) urged Rishi Sunak to do “the right thing” as thousands of nurses go unpaid for the second time in a row.
Speaking at a picket outside Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Hospital, RCN general secretary Pat Cullen said the strikes could be called off if the government changed wages.
The RCN has warned that the strikes could last for six months if an agreement is not reached. The government has said that the wage increase demanded by the union is unaffordable.

The boy swallowed 52 magnetic toy balls.
A five-year-old boy required emergency surgery after swallowing 52 magnetic toy balls. Jude Foley, described as an active child, started suffering from an illness last August that doctors initially dismissed as nothing serious.
However, the stomach pain got so bad that his mother, Lindsay, decided to take him to Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil. Read her story here.

Terry Hall of The Specials dies aged 63
Sad news this morning that Terry Hall of The Specials has passed away at the age of 63. Pioneers Two Tone and Ska from Coventry confirmed it on social media.
The band said in a statement: “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Terry, our wonderful friend, brother and one of the most brilliant singers, songwriters and lyricists this country has ever produced.

For the second time in a row, thousands of nurses write about salaries
Thousands of nurses in Wales went on strike for the second time in less than a week over pay on Tuesday after nurses in Wales voted to strike for the first time in November. 🇧🇷 All but one of the Welsh health authorities are involved.
More action is expected on Wednesday, when emergency teams in England and Wales are also ready to walk if a meeting with UK Health Secretary Steve Barclay does not prevent that. Read the contingency plans here.
