The US State Department raises the alarm about Covid in China. “The death toll from the virus is of concern to the rest of the world, given the size of China’s GDP and the size of its economy. Having a stronger situation than Covid is not only good for China, but also for the rest of the world,” Department spokesman Ned Price told a news conference.
The United States, he noted then, “continues to administer vaccines and help countries to overcome the acute phase of the virus. We certainly hope that soon this will also happen in the People’s Republic of China. Whenever there are deaths and infections anywhere in the world, we want a situation like this to end,” Price said, noting that the virus can mutate and pose a threat to people everywhere.
