A man has died after being hit by a train in Wrexham. The incident took place shortly after 2pm on Wednesday 21 December and the British Transport Police were called shortly afterwards.
BTP said it had been called to an accident on the tracks at Wrexham General Station just before 2.15pm. They were joined by the Welsh Ambulance Service, North Wales Police, Wales Air Ambulance and Welsh Ambulance Service. of North Wales Fire and Rescue, reports North Wales Live.
Rail services were suspended while emergency services dealt with the incident, delaying some journeys by up to two hours. A North Wales Police spokesman said: “We received a call shortly before 2.15pm today about reports of a person on the tracks at Wrexham main train station.
“We are following the incident along with colleagues from BTP, Wales Air Ambulance and WAST.” Sadly, one person died on the spot. BTP does not consider the incident suspicious.
