The INAI plenary has appointed Maite Azuela and Sergio López Ayllón as representatives to the election of the three new directors of the National Electoral Institute (INE).
The National Institute for Transparency, Access to Information and Protection of Personal Data is part of the nomination process along with the National Human Rights Commission and the Chamber of Deputies.
The INAI, the CNDH and the delegates will designate the seven persons who will form the technical evaluation committee of the profiles that intend to enter the INE.
Sérgio Lopes He is a research professor in the Legal Studies Department of CIDE, an institution of which he was a director.
He is a member of the National System of Researchers.
Maitê azuela She holds a master’s degree in Public Policy and Public Administration from Concordia University.
He has experience in IFE, SCT and IFAI, but also in civil society organisations. He is a columnist for El Universal.
Those interested in joining INE must submit their application before January 20, 2023.
The Technical Commission determines whether individuals meet constitutional and legal requirements; examines suitability for the position of adviser.
They conduct a knowledge assessment and an interview with the finalists.
The committee provides lists with the names of the finalists to the Political Coordination Council of the Chamber of Deputies.
The plenary of the House of Commons will vote on the winners on 28 March 2023.
If the majority is not obtained, the possibility of drawing lots (insaculation) is created in the Chamber of Deputies itself or, if necessary, the lists are forwarded to the plenary session of the Federal Supreme Court for final insaculation
