The family of a man who disappeared more than two years ago has launched a new appeal as they face their third Christmas without him. Jamie Moreno was not seen shortly after leaving his home in Roath, Cardiff on Monday 23rd March 2020.
Jamie, who has two daughters, Tia and Georgia, is believed to have left his home in Parade around 1.15pm and was seen by a friend at around 2.45pm that day on Llanedairn Road. South Wales Police said security camera footage from a nearby school confirmed that was the last time he was seen.
Police added that Jamie had taken his phone and wallet, but his bank cards had not been used since that day, raising concern. He is approximately 5’9 tall, usually wears a beanie, and may have had a beard at the time of his disappearance. His family said he had a distinctive walk that those who knew him would recognize. Following the family’s further appeal, Jamie’s sister Nils Foster told WalesOnline: “It’s been a difficult three years, but we never gave up hope. But that hope becomes harder to maintain the longer Jamie is gone.
“As Jamie disappeared, he lost the greatest gift of all: becoming a grandfather. Their daughter Georgia had a son named Cairo. My brother would be so happy it breaks my heart.”
In a new appeal published on Tuesday 20 December, South Wales Police Missing Persons Investigator Andy Ryan said: “Once again, this is a particularly difficult time for Jamie’s family, who have never lost the hope of finding him. If you’ve seen Jamie or know where he is, please contact us.”
Speaking to WalesOnline on the anniversary of his disappearance, his daughter, Tia Moreno Rees, said on behalf of the family: “We just want dad to know we’re not mad at him, we just want him to come back to us. with safety. 🇧🇷 Last year it was hard not knowing what happened and we just want to move on.
“If he’s out there, I just want him to know that we miss him, love him and want him home with us.” Anyone with information should contact South Wales Police via chat, online reporting tool, email ([email protected]) or 101 quoting 2000102586.
