Brazil, talk bothers bolsonaristas: “Come to the party that has shooting”

A party to which it was better not to bring the children because there would be shooting. In the chats of participants in the assault on the buildings of power in Brasilia, encrypted messages appear that investigators are using to reconstitute the real intentions of the demonstrators, sympathizers of former president Jair Bolsonaro.

The signs that something big was going to happen were all online, even on social media. According to Repubblica, the protesters organized the raid on the Brazilian Parliament and the presidential and government headquarters, referring to a “trip to the beach in Brasilia” to go to the “Selma party”. “Selma – informs Repubblica – did not invite children and the elderly, only adults who wanted to participate in the games: target shooting, police and robbers, musical chairs…”, they write in the chat that seems to refer to the possibility of confrontations of fire with law enforcement. In addition, “it is important that everyone think about their personal hygiene, so bring a mask so that your eyes do not burn with the pepper cake…”, they wrote in the chats, some of which, however, were much more explicit : “We are going to conquer Congress, the Federal Justice and the Planalto Palace. We are going to block the roads and make the refineries and airports unusable”.

Conversations that would have served to block the initiative in the bud, but which will now serve to register the accusations against the prisoners. Of the more than 1,200 arrested on Sunday, at least 763 Bolsonaristas remain in prison, whose names Brasilia’s penitentiary administration has released, but it is not clear if they are all those arrested now. At least 1,500 people were arrested during the assault and during the evacuation of Bolsonarist protesters’ camps. Around 600 people were later released because they were over 65, mothers of young children or with health problems.
