Nepal, plane crashes during takeoff: at least 67 dead

Air crash in Nepal. The Yeti Airlines passenger flight crashed on the take-off stage between the old and new airport in Pokhara, central Nepal. On board were 68 passengers and four crew members, the military also works in rescue operations, but the provisional balance is disastrous: according to police data, there are 67 victims in all. A total of 72 people were on board the plane and there is still some hope for five of them.

According to Gurudatta Dhakal, deputy head of Kaski district, in central Nepal, where the accident took place, some people were taken out alive: “We also sent some survivors to the hospital for treatment”. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal called an emergency cabinet meeting and urged state agencies to work on rescue operations. Pokharo airport has been closed and investigators are already investigating the cause of the accident.
