Jens Stoltenberg on Ukraine, will become a NATO member

Jens Stoltenberg openly supports Ukraine’s entry into NATO. The secretary general of the Atlantic alliance stresses the need for Ukraine to win the war. “NATO’s position remains unchanged that Ukraine will become a member of NATO,” Stoltenberg said. “So obviously the main focus now is supporting Ukraine to ensure that Ukraine wins the war and remains a democratic, sovereign and independent nation in Europe. And that’s why NATO’s allied partners are providing unprecedented military support to Ukraine.” The statement was made by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Stoltenberg reiterated once again that NATO, in his opinion, must do everything to ensure that Russia “does not win the war” in Ukraine. In his opinion, now “the key moment of the conflict is taking place” and, presumably, “the prospects of a peaceful solution depend on military supplies from NATO”. A victory for Moscow would be “a negative for all of us in Europe and North America, across NATO, because it would send a message to authoritarian leaders – not just Putin, but also China – that with the use of brutal military force they can achieve their goals”.
