Google accused of monopolistic position in the online advertising market. The US Department of Justice and eight states have filed a lawsuit against Google demanding the dismantling of the search giant’s ad technology business, accusing it of allegedly illegally monopolizing the digital advertising market. Bloomberg reports.
“Google abuses its monopoly power to harm website publishers and advertisers who dare to use competitive ad technology products in pursuit of higher quality or lower cost results,” the Justice Department said in the complaint filed with the Virginia Federal Court. New York, California and Virginia are among the states that have signed it.
