Much of Japan is struggling with heavy snowfall, cold and strong winds. The winter season has adversely affected the traffic in the country. Hundreds of flights were canceled and train services came to a standstill.
Another person died due to stormy winter weather. A government official said there were two more deaths, but an investigation is ongoing to determine if they died from the weather.
Especially in western Japan, there is a lot of snow on the coast of the Sea of \u200b\u200bJapan. About 93 centimeters of snow fell in the city of Maniwa in the last 24 hours.
At least 300 domestic flights were cancelled. According to local media, numerous high-speed trains in the north have been delayed or stopped.

On a highway in the middle of the country, traffic almost stops. About 3,000 passengers were stranded at two train stations in the western city of Kyoto. Some had to spend the night in one of the wards. Others were stranded on one of the 15 trains between the two stops.
A cargo ship sank off the coast of Japan. The cause is unknown, but strong winds are taken into account. At least 14 of the 22 people on board were pulled out of the water.
