Ukraine is sure: “In the EU within two years.”  But from Brussels they slow down

Accelerated on one side, braked on the other. Ukraine revealed its objective of joining the European Union in the next two years through the mouth of Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, who granted an interview to Politico. However, several European leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron, have already made it clear that much more time is needed for such an entry. «Brussels says: not so soon», reads the subtitle of the interview. Shmyhal seems so aware of the difficulty that he speaks of this project as “very ambitious”. “We hope to complete the pre-entry phase of negotiations during the year 2023,” continued the Ukrainian Prime Minister.

Meanwhile, British intelligence, in its daily update on the conflict with Russia, hinted that the Moscow authorities are likely to recruit others as part of the partial mobilization for war: «On January 22, 2023, the media reported Russian border police prevented some workers with dual Kyrgyz-Russian nationality from leaving Russia, saying their names are on callable lists. The sign that Vladimir Putin is ready to use all the weapons at his disposal for the final attack in the coming weeks.
