Robbed and killed retirees in their homes, arresting an alleged serial killer

He broke into their homes to rob and kill the elders. There are several people who may have been killed by an alleged serial killer who is currently arrested by the German police. The man is suspected of murdering three retirees and robbing a fourth at Schwabisch Hall, a few kilometers from Stuttgart, Germany. Authorities in the southwestern state of Baden-Württemberg confirmed at a press conference that the suspect had been taken into custody. A 31-year-old man of Serbian nationality was to move to Germany with his wife and two children in December 2021, according to initial constructions.

The arrests came after an 89-year-old woman was found dead in her apartment last week. In this context, the death of a 77-year-old woman in December last year was also examined. Her body was found in her apartment, and police assume both women were killed by the same suspect.

The murder case of the 94-year-old man, whose body was found very close to the apartment where the 77-year-old woman lived in October 2020, remained unsolved until recently. The Stuttgarter Zeitung reports that even in this case, the police assume a murder and the perpetrator may always be the same. In September 2021, the Public Prosecutor’s Office initially closed the investigation file due to no further findings, but now it looks like new elements will bring the blame back to the 31-year-old Serb.

Investigators found parallels in the three cases and became suspicious as the three victims were women and elderly men from the same area and were all killed on Wednesday. Investigators believe the man was also responsible for a recent attempted armed robbery against an 83-year-old man.
