Uniformed members of the Barranquilla Metropolitan Police cordoned off a road next to the Plaza del Sol shopping center, in Soledad, where a truck carrying securities belonging to the security company Atlas, apparently the target of a criminal attack, was parked on the morning of Friday, February 10 .
What is known so far is that unknown persons, dressed in cleaning company uniforms, threw a package into the vehicle parked at the spot. The action is said to have taken place when the company’s security personnel opened the vehicle in a controlled manner to lower some tulas of money into the Shopping Center’s ATMs.
In response to the alleged attack, the company’s employees got out of the truck at full speed, apparently for the criminals to get some tulas of money and leave the place.
This version coincided with what was claimed by some motorcycle taxi drivers and shop assistants who arrived at the mall at the time.
However, Barranquilla police have not confirmed whether or not the attack was committed.
On the other hand, this outlet learned that the package left in the security vehicle was detonated in a controlled manner by experts from the Anti-Explosive Unit of the armed institution.
