Five companies and a research institute from China end up blacklisted in the United States because of the aerospace program linked to the spy balloon intercepted in the skies of the United States. The US government’s measure thus expands the list of “not appreciated” by the Department of Commerce, which will prevent, for example, companies from selling technologies without a special license. According to the US Bureau of Industry and Security, the 6 entities were targeted for their support of China’s military modernization efforts, especially the People’s Liberation Army’s aerospace programs, including airships and balloons.
The six entities affected by US sanctions are Beijing Nanjiang Aerospace Technology Co., China Electronics Technology Group Corporation 48th Research Institute, Dongguan Lingkong Remote Sensing Technology Co., Eagles Men Aviation Science and Technology Group Co., Guangzhou Tian-Hai-Xiang Aviation Technology Co. and Shanxi Eagles Men Aviation Science and Technology Group Co.
