Canada shot down another unidentified flying object over its airspace on Saturday at the behest of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. as reported by him on his Twitter account. “I ordered the downing of an unidentified object that violated Canadian airspace,” he said. The US Joint Air Command shot down the object over the Yukon, in the northwest of the country, near Alaska. “Canadian and US aircraft were deployed and a US F-22 successfully fired on the target,” he added.
Trudeau spoke to US President Joe Biden this afternoon about the incident. “Canadian Forces will now recover and analyze the remains of the object. Thank you norad [Defensas Aéreas de Norte América, en sus siglas inglesas] to take care of America,” Trudeau said.
Norad was tracking an unidentified high-altitude craft hovering over Northern Canada. Norad is a joint Canadian-American organization that provides defense and air control services throughout North America. The operation comes a day after the White House announced the crash of another object flying high in Alaskan skies and continued recovery and analysis of debris from the Chinese balloon shot down last week.
“Currently, military aircraft are operating in Alaska and Canada in support of North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) activities. Norad confirms that we have identified a high-altitude air object over northern Canada,” the joint air command said in a statement broadcast by Canadian television CTV News.
“While we cannot discuss specific details about these activities at this time, please note that Norad conducts sustained and distributed operations in defense of North America in any or all three of Norad’s regions.” The statement mentioned above.
Canada announced the closure of part of the airspace near the object, about which no further information was provided. Canadian and US air forces were mobilized in response to the object’s presence. Some Canadian media, citing unnamed sources, have spoken of the possible presence of a second object, but no official source has confirmed this.

Referring to the object “the size of a small car” (according to the Pentagon) shot down this Friday in Alaskan waters, Norad said salvage operations will resume this Saturday in Deadhorse, northeast of Alaska, near the Canadian border. “The U.S. Northern Command’s Alaska Command and the Alaska National Guard conduct search and recovery activities in close coordination with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and local law enforcement agencies.” stated in a statement.
Arctic weather conditions, including wind chill, snow and poor daylight, make operations difficult, according to Air Command, which prioritizes the safety of rescue workers when working on sea ice. “Currently, we have no further details about the object, including its capabilities, purpose or origin.” The mystery continues.
