In recent months, the Iranian regime has sent a new type of unmanned aerial vehicle capable of returning to Russia. The British newspaper The Guardian writes like this based on Iranian sources.
The newspaper writes that since the Russian authorities’ visit to Tehran in November, 18 new type UAVs have been transferred to Russia. Both countries border the Caspian Sea, which makes it relatively easy to transport weapons over water. It is also said that some drones were carried on Iranian government planes.
The new drones are more advanced than the so-called Shahed drones that have been used to bombard Ukraine in recent months. These ancient “Kamikaze” drones explode when their payload hits its target. The new drones carry bombs under their wings and can fly back after detonating explosives if not dropped.
In addition to the weapons, Iran would also send technicians to help the Russians use them.
The delivery is another sign of growing military cooperation between Iran and Russia. Both countries are subject to strict Western sanctions.

The Guardian also writes that the new drones are being manufactured at the factory in the city of Isfahan, which was the target of a drone attack late last month. Iran blames its arch-enemy, Israel, for this attack.
