NATO warplanes intercept Russian warplanes in Poland

Two Dutch F-35 fighter jets intercepted three Russian warplanes over Poland and escorted them outside the country’s NATO airspace. This was announced by the Dutch ministry of defense in a statement posted on social networks.

The Dutch Quick Response Alert (QRA) has been activated in Poland today. Two fighter jets flew in to identify and escort an aircraft formation. Unknown at the time, the aircraft approached the Polish NATO area of ​​responsibility from Kaliningrad. Upon identification, these were discovered to be three aircraft: a Russian IL-20M Coot-A reconnaissance aircraft, accompanied by two SU-27 Flankers, a 4th generation supersonic fighter interceptor.

Dutch F-35s accompanied the formation from afar and delivered the escort to NATO partners.
