Another shooting at a US university. At least 3 people died and 5 were injured Monday night at Michigan State University’s East Lansing campus, about 90 miles northwest of Detroit. The 43-year-old alleged killer took his own life off campus. The shootings began just before 8:30 pm local time at Berkey Hall and nearby the student union, a popular meeting place, as specified by Chris Rozman, acting deputy chief of the campus police department.
Hundreds of police stormed the campus looking for the man who had shot the students. Michigan State has approximately 50,000 students. All campus activities were canceled for 48 hours, including athletics and classes. The East Lansing High School auditorium, where a school board meeting was being held on Monday night, was closed and police prevented people from leaving.
