Welsh actress Christine Pritchard dies aged 79. The Gwynedd-born popular TV and film actress graced the screen for decades and was best known for her role in the S4C children’s show Rala Rwdins.

She appeared in many Welsh-language films and TV series, including Glas and Dorlan, Pobol and Cwm, Anita and Un Bore Mercher, and was also well known to non-Welsh-speaking audiences through her roles in Doctors and Stella, among others. other works.

Born in Caernarfon, Mrs. Pritchard studied at Ysgol Syr Huw Owen, where she developed an interest in theatre. After studying English, Latin and drama at the University of Bristol, she returned to Wales, where she made her debut on the small screen. Pritchard, who was also a teacher, which brought her to St. Kitts in the Caribbean later became a familiar face at S4C through her acting career, which spanned several decades.
