“After the victory”. Stoltenberg reveals NATO’s new plan against Russia

“We have always said that Ukraine will become a member of NATO. The priority now is to ensure that Kiev wins the war.” NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg was clear about next steps against Russia.

NATO and European defense ministers are discussing how to deal with Moscow’s renewed vicious attack on Ukraine. “This is the biggest security crisis in Europe since the Second World War,” Stoltenberg said from Brussels. “Today we will approve the new political guideline for defense planning. It will be a fundamental factor of change for the coming years. 40,000 soldiers ready”, added the secretary.

NATO allies are providing unprecedented support to Ukraine. “This reflects the reality that we live in a more dangerous world, with Russia’s aggressive behavior, the lingering threat of terrorism and the challenges posed by China. This will drive capability changes in the coming years and ensure that our deterrence and defense remain strong and reliable,” said Stoltenberg. And yet: “The topics addressed during the summit – Stoltenberg concluded – in addition to reinforcing aid to Ukraine, were the consolidation “of our defense and deterrence”, the protection “of our critical infrastructures through the reinforcement of our military planning and of our cooperation with the industry”.
