Vladimir Putin “more furious than ever” at the leak of news about his private life. The Kremlin’s number one has raised an iron curtain over their wives and children, but yesterday an investigation by Proekt – an independent Russian website specializing in investigative journalism banned by Moscow in 2021 – revealed that Putin lives with the former Uzbek rhythmic gymnastics champion, Alina Kabaeva, 40, in a luxury villa in Valdai.
The region is famous for its bucolic landscape and is located between St. Petersburg and Moscow. Inside the complex there is a traditional wooden “terem” (residence where the czars housed the female aristocratic elites) destined for Kabaeva and the 7 and 3 year old children she would have with Putin. Proekt also published photos of the mansion’s sumptuous, baroque interiors.
Well, according to the Telegram channel “Generall Svr”, run by a former Russian lieutenant who is now a dissident, the 70-year-old Russian despot is “more furious than ever” not only at the revelations about his life as a nabab but also about attacks by drones, presumably Ukrainian, in areas of southern and western Russia. He sees the attacks as a direct threat to his personal safety. “He accused defense and security chiefs of failing to protect him. He wasn’t too far away from having a heart attack or stroke. He also quarreled with Kabaeva”, says the channel, which, however, does not provide documents to support its claims.
In the post it is written that she “curses and screams” at the FSB security service and Kabaeva’s friends who “talk on every corner about everything they know and do not know. Putin is 100% sure the news came from them.” The Generall Svr report shows that the altercation ended with Kabaeva in tears and Putin so exhausted with rage that he complained of nausea and headaches. The doctor would have recommended absolute rest due to his (alleged) health problems. Love for the Russian president enriched Alina Kabaeva, with an estimated net worth of US$120 million, as well as a penthouse covering 2,600 square meters in Sochi with a swimming pool, cinema and helipad.
