Four Americans were abducted in Mexico shortly after arriving from Texas. The perpetrators are most likely members of a drug cartel. The FBI tells the Mexicans to take care of the four. Security is offering $50,000 for the tip, which will lead to the return of the four of them and the arrest of the kidnappers.
The FBI said the quartet crossed the Mexican border from Brownsville, Texas, near the town of Matamoros on Saturday. They were driving a white van with North Carolina plates, which clearly showed that the car was American. Shortly after crossing the border, his car came under fire. He was then ‘driven’ into a speeding car.
This tweet would show the van the Americans were in. Tires flat, driver’s side window smashed:
According to Mexican President Obrador, they had come to Mexico to buy medicine and were subsequently caught in a shootout between two armed groups. Matamoros is the battleground of war between two factions of a drug cartel.
The US consulate in Matamoros warned on Friday of a dangerous situation. Local authorities then urged the public to seek protection.
A video showing the American is circulating on social media, but whether this is true or not could not be confirmed. It shows someone being driven into the back of a pickup truck and pulled in by armed men. Also, two bodies are dragged into the pickup truck and thrown into the back of the truck. These individuals appear to be still alive.
It all happened in broad daylight with heavy traffic. Nobody dares.
Mexican
The US ambassador to Mexico said that an innocent Mexican citizen was killed in the shootout. The American justice system is working with Mexican authorities to find American citizens.
