Strikes and protests over the train crash will paralyze Greece this Wednesday

Wednesday’s work stoppage, called by ADEDI, the civil servants’ union, was joined by maritime and urban transport workers, as well as doctors, teachers and actors, who in turn joined railway workers, who today entered their seventh consecutive day of strikes to push for the modernization of the country’s railways.

For example, transport by ship, train, bus and trolley bus is expected to come to a complete standstill, while metro and tram workers are also considering participating in the strike, according to Greek media.

The demonstrations are expected to start around noon in central Athens and other cities, which could overlap with the marches called a few hours later to mark Women’s Day.
