A woman was sexually assaulted by two men while traveling by train between Swansea and Llanelli. British Transport Police officers are requesting witnesses to the incident.
On Thursday 9 February at 4.02pm the victim boarded a train from Cardiff to Fishguard and sat in the rear carriage. Around 5 pm, the two men boarded the train in Swansea and sat down next to her. After the train left Swansea Station, the men began talking to the woman and tried to engage her in unwanted conversation.
During that time, both men repeatedly touched the woman inappropriately. The men then got off the train at Llanelli around 5:20 pm. The British Transport Police described the first man as Caucasian, around 1.70 m tall, with brown hair, clean-shaven, of medium height and carrying a rucksack. He spoke with a strong Polish accent. The second man was white, taller than the first, he also had brown hair, a short beard and a slender body. He also spoke with a strong Polish accent. It is believed that one of the men was also wearing baggy green cargo pants.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to come forward and help with the investigation. Anyone who can help should contact the police on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016 quoting the reference 23000015448. Information can also be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
