At least five people were killed and 14 injured in a raid by a hitman on the night of Sunday, March 19 in the Villa Nueva neighborhood, La Loma sector, in Barranquilla.
The terror was palpable when unknown men on motorcycles broke into the area in the middle of a ‘picotera’ party and began shooting people head-on and indiscriminately with firearms.
After the attack, the National Police was on site to inspect the site and start the investigation.
The commander of the Barranquilla Metropolitan Police, by virtue of his position, stated that an amount of up to 50 million pesos is being offered in exchange for important information that could lead to the discovery and arrest of those responsible for the massacre.
“We are conducting investigative activities to clarify the events that killed five people talking in the La Loma sector. For these events, we offer a reward of up to 50 million pesos,” he confirmed.
He also indicated that a specialized group of the Public Prosecution Service and the National Police from the investigation edition will be on site to delve into this important investigation.
Two people were immediately killed on the spot, including a woman, while more than 10 people who were injured were taken to care centers.
