During an alleged police chase on Monday afternoon, March 20, three people were shot in the Terranova neighborhood of Soledad, including a child under the age of 3.
According to what was established by witnesses, it appears that a uniformed man from the Barranquilla Metropolitan Police was looking for the boy’s father, who allegedly entered his home, the police officer followed him and fired several shots.
At that point, one of the shots hit the child’s abdomen; another on a woman’s leg; and another with a 15-year-old girl who was at the scene.
Immediately, the child’s relatives helped him and took him on a motorcycle to the Los Almendros Clinic, a medical center where he arrived without vital signs.
Likewise, it was learned that the two injured women also entered the same medical center. For their part, it was understood that the event would have caused a reaction from the community, who allegedly attacked the uniformed officers.
Therefore, several agents had to arrive in the area to bring the situation under control. So far, the authorities have not provided any information about the case.
