Trucker Adam Jones uploaded the image to Facebook after spotting a Stagecoach bus heading to Blainquam in Rhondda, stopping on the main road through Treorchy today (Wednesday 29th March). The 30-year-old man from Tonirefail saw the driver get in and guided the old man across the street to safety, even helping him put up an umbrella so he wouldn’t get wet.

“In fact, they also escorted him down the street to where he needed to be and even helped him get his umbrella. Little things are important nowadays. Well done, whoever the bus driver is.” . “I just hope they get the recognition they deserve.”

And there was a lot of similar praise from readers online. “Don’t hang out with nice people anymore, we need more people like that,” wrote one person. A third, who claimed to be on the same bus, said the driver was a woman and was accompanying a passenger to the nearest dentist’s office after he hit his head getting out of the vehicle.

“They examined him at the dentist and another patient took him home. He was fine but stunned, bless him,” they said. Stagecoach has been contacted for comment.
